This screen will allow you to configure card scanning equipment that is attached to the computer.
Scanner Type
Select the appropriate scanner type (keyboard or serial) that the computer will be using to scan member cards. If "Serial Attached" is selected, you will be prompted for some additional information pertaining to the scanner. For specific information on these settings, contact the scanner manufacturer.
Barcode Settings
Entrance Control can be set up to read only barcodes that begin with a particular preamble (e.g., "E"). If a preamble is assigned to all member cards as they are generated, choose the preamble from the list. For more information on setting up member preambles, see Printing Setup Tab.
If you are unsure of this option, choose the "blank" selection from the preamble list. Using this method, Entrance Control will attempt to read all barcodes, regardless of the preamble used.
