This location can print?
If the location has a card printer available for generating membership cards, check this box.
This application is responsible for printing?
If a card printer is attached to this computer, check this box.
Note: If this computer is responsible for printing membership cards, Managed Access Server must be active (running) in order for the cards to print.
Card Printer
If you are setting up a location that is responsible for printing, select the card-printing device from the drop-down list.
Note: The Card Printer option will only be available if the first two boxes on the screen are checked.
Design File
Enter the path of the design file to be used for card generation, or use the "Browse" button to locate the file. Design files are created through the Card Designer application and have a *.mcf extension (e.g., default.mcf).
Default Design
The design file selected determines the design list. Choose the card design from the available list that will be used most often. For example, if your organization offers two card types —one for employees and another for members—you would most likely choose the membership card as the default design (assuming more membership cards are generated than employee cards).
Print Card if Membership Type is Not Assigned?
By default, Managed Access Server will not print membership cards unless a membership type (e.g., annual, monthly, student, etc.) is assigned. If you would like the system to print membership cards regardless of whether or not a membership type is assigned, check this box.
Print Card if Membership Picture Does not Exist?
By default, Managed Access Server will not print membership cards unless a member picture is available to print. If you would like the system to print membership cards regardless of whether a photo is available, check this box.
Print Cards if Home Branch is Not Registered?
By default, Managed Access Server will not print membership cards unless a member is assigned to a home branch. If you would like the system to print membership cards regardless of whether or not a home branch is assigned, check this box.
Print Cards Automatically?
If you would like Managed Access Server to print cards as they are identified by the system to be printed, check this box. If you would like to manually instruct the system when to print cards (e.g., at the end of each business day), this option should remain unchecked.
Note: This option may also be turned on and off by choosing Tools|Print Cards Automatically from the main menu.
Current Card Number
Managed Access Server assigns a unique card number to a member when a new card is printed. These numbers are assigned in chronological order unless instructed by the user to do otherwise. (For example, if 001000008 was the last generated card number, the next would be 001000009.)
If you would like to manually assign the next card number to be generated, simply enter the number in this field.
Note: If you will be scanning generic cards, the card number scanned will override this number.
Card Barcode Preamble
Preambles are an optional single character used by the system to differentiate among scanned barcodes. For example, a membership card preamble may be set to "E," while barcodes used for tracking equipment may be set to "I." This would provide an easy way for the system to distinguish between the two barcode types.
If you would like a barcode preamble to print immediately before the barcode, enter the preamble identifier here. If you do not wish to use a preamble, select the blank character from the drop-down list.
