General Setup Tab

Server ID

The Server ID should be a unique number that identifies the server and distinguishes it from other branches.

Server Name

The server name must be unique and cannot be blank. If you do not have a server name, simply enter a default name or enter "none."

Data Path

The data path specifies the location of the Member Management database. The default path is set to the Entrance Control installation because this system is typically running continuously. If your database files are stored in a location other than the default, you can manually enter the path or use the "Browse" feature to locate the directory.

Event Logging

The server will track various activities as they occur. Over time, this information can accumulate and become cumbersome to view. The "delete events" option triggers the system to delete all events after a designated amount of time has passed. For more information on this topic, see Working with Events.

Managed Access Server will provide statistical information periodically (e.g., how many errors occurred in the past hour or a particular period of time). The default period of time is 60 minutes, but this number can be increased or decreased based on your preferences.

Log

By default, Managed Access Server will log events, errors, and warnings. If you find that you do not want to log one or more of these items, simply uncheck the corresponding box. For more information on this topic, see Working with Events.

Note: These options can also be activated by selecting Tools|Log|Activity from the main menu of Managed Access Server.
